All feature similar bottom contours: Slight release
in nose, Flat entry, Light concave in center, A slight
double barrel vee coming into the fins, Flat off the back.
All boards feature a tight bottom radius on the rails.
This contributes to stability and helps to get the board
up and planning more efficiently.
This is a proven, go-to, bottom design for surfboards
that has stood the test of time for decades. It generates
a lot of speed yet enables the rider to make smooth, controlled,
rail-to-rail transitions with minimal effort.

|

The next generation in SUP race board
design. The hull shape is optimized for speed. Featuring
a unique bow design that penetrates through waves allowing
the board to drive and accelerate without pitching the
bow and losing forward energy. The peaked deck design
functions to shed water for smooth recovery.
The nose :
a development based on our work with racing catamarans;
a wave-piercing bow. The idea is to cut cleanly through
the chop without adding drag. Less water is pushed around
as the bow penetrates through he wave and less of your
paddling energy is used to propel the board forward.
The tail :
designed to minimize wetted surface area and drag, release
water cleanly and perform well while riding waves.

Their passion for the oceanic lifestyle marked the
advent of Ohana prone paddleboards in 1996; Russells
race experience in outriggers, surfskis and paddleboards
and Bobs talent for design and manufacturing soon
led to an unbelievable success in high performance paddling:
in the ensuing years Ohana won almost every major paddle
race in the world.
The Ohana SUP boards were introduced in 2008 with
the idea to take the speed of their paddle boards to the
Stand Up category. The outcome was amazing: at the Battle
of the Paddle they took first in Mens Open, and
Womens elite, and a second in Mens Elite.

Our designs are not just blown up,
bigger longboards. Outline, thickness distribution, rocker,
foil, bottom contours, etc are all carefully planned out
after spending literally hundreds of hours testing different
boards we designed; as well as boards from other designers.
It's the overall design of our boards that make them work
as well as they do. Our boards are designed specifically
for SUP surfing by SUP surfers.

Badfish Stand Up Paddle Paddling whitewater
rivers is all about dealing with opposing hydraulic forces,
from running through holes and wave trains to crossing
boiling eddy fences, and it requires a craft that can
remain stable in a chaotic environment.
There is one company that is leading
the charge with very innovative and unique SUP boards
designed specifically for these challenging river conditions:
Badfish Standup Paddle Company.
Badfish boards are designed and built
by mountain-based watermen, located in Salida, Colorado
at the foot of 14,000 foot peaks on the Arkansas River.
After four years of brainstorming, prototyping, surfing,
and stand up paddling rivers, a new type of SUP board
is born.
